SE Asian Bloggers Xchange
This program is a part of ON|OFF 2011 – Indonesias largest national bloggers & onliners gathering. Previously, ON|OFF was known as Pesta Blogger, and it has been held annually since 2007. In the first Pesta Blogger’s opening speech, Indonesian Minister of Communications declared October 27th as National Bloggers Day–to commemorate the 1st national scale bloggers’ gathering in Indonesia.
After four years of successfully organizing a large scale online event like Pesta Blogger, this year we are determined to hold an even bigger event incorporating Pesta Blogger as part of it. With our tagline, “Ideas meet opportunities” ON|OFF will be THE event that will cater a wide spectrum of people with an interest in social media to gain knowledge, share idea, opportunities for future business partnerships, and to simply have a good time.
This year, with full support from US Embassy Jakarta, we’re finally able to bring the event to a regional scale by inviting eight bloggers from our neighboring countries in the South East Asia region. These bloggers will take part in ON|OFF 2011, and share their valuable insights & experience regarding social media landscape in their countries, as well as other aspects of daily lives.
This program, called South East Asian Bloggers Xchange, is expected to help promote communication and information exchange between South East Asian countries – particularly among the youth. Following this program, we’re looking forward to more vibrant & dynamic communication between the participants of this program, the Indonesian bloggers & onliners, as well as bloggers & onliners in the other South East Asian countries.
